Leaders we admire

Pekka Himanen. http://www.think-act.com/en/magazine/young-global-leaders/dignity-based-leadership.html has this to say on leaders we admire:
“Ultimately, we admire those people who have served something larger than themselves in life. Or even more: those who have made something greater than themselves possible in life.
Think of the names people give when asked about great leaders: Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr., Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu, etc. What do these people have in common? They devoted their talents to a greater purpose. They wanted to create real value for people, to enrich their lives first and foremost. They wanted to make sure that everyone's potential had the chance to be fulfilled to its maximum. And they brought hope in times of despair and formulated an inspiring vision which motivated people to put their best efforts into making the world a better place.
Great leaders have always been able to link problems to solutions. Gandhi said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world."

Servant Leadership

Have just been to my emails and opened my "DailyGood" which it often truly is. This is a great website which focuses on the positive side of life. It brings news that inspires, a change from all the negative stuff we hear each day from the media and what is happening around the world. Through it's articles it is promoting is a new world, helping people through a change of thinking,to creat a better world. I believe that by more and more people being exposed to the positive, they will eventually also realise that it is possible to create a more harmonious planet to live in. Check it out for yourself and subscribe if you wish. It's motto: Be the change.
